Marine Service Technician (MST) / MST Apprentice

• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of general workers and marine service technician apprentice
• Requisition materials and supplies
• Repair and Service 2-Stroke, 4-Stroke, and high-speed turbo diesel engines & drives
• Service Marine Transmissions and Power Take-offs, inboard engine components
• Install & Service Fresh Water Systems, Waste Plumbing & Pumps, Davits & Hoists, Heating Systems, Refrigeration & A/C Systems, Propane Systems.
• Perform Basic Wiring & Testing Procedures
• Operate heavy equipment (Hydraulic Trailer, Forklift, 1 Ton Truck/Trailer)
• Ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed
• Perform Drilling & Cutting Operations in Metals
• Prepare production and other reports.
• Ensure the standards and hours of Marine Service Technician certifications are met

• Marine service foreperson - engine repair
• Mechanical equipment repair inspection foreperson
• Mechanical equipment repair inspectors foreperson
• Metal and woodworking machinery manufacturing foreperson
• Propeller repair foreperson
• Small-machines repair shop supervisor
• Small-engine repair shop supervisor
• Small-equipment repair shop supervisor

ASSOCIATED TITLES

• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• Several years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in a relevant trade are usually required.
• Journey person trade certification in a relevant trade is required. • Previous experience required for apprenticeship opportunities
