Since 1979 Covey Island Boatworks has been building award-winning custom sail and motor yachts for the world. In fact, their yard has turned nearly 100 unique dreams into low-maintenance realities and sound investments. They build their boats for sailors, passage-makers, and adventurers. Boats with character, designed for everything from family living and cruising to modern racers and classic yachts. Every Covey Island boat reflects the extensive knowledge acquired from over 39 years of combining traditional Nova Scotia craftsmanship with trusted, cutting-edge technologies.

In 2016 they opened a new yard in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, where they are building and finishing commercial fishing boats and other larger pleasure boats. In addition to new builds, they provide full refit-restoration services, spar building, rigging, repairs and Awlgrip refinishing. If you are interested in electric or hybrid propulsion, Covey Island Boatworks are distributors for both Torqeedo, Bellmarine, and LMC, leaders in marine electric & hybrid propulsion. In 2017 Covey Island also took on the Beta Marine line of diesel motors and generators for Atlantic Canada. This year Covey Island is introducing the CIB 30 HE, a Downeast boat or Lobster Yacht with hybrid propulsion.
