Lunenburg Industrial Foundry & Engineering, or LIFE for short, has been providing a variety of high quality products since 1891. LIFE services both local needs and worldwide markets from their convenient locations on Lunenburg Harbour. LIFE draws on the wealth of experience gathered over 125 years that the business has been in operation, and provides modern and traditional techniques to serve customers.

LIFE’s modern machine shop allows for work to be done efficiently and effectively and specializes in propulsion systems. They manufacture a full line of marine equipment including propellers, shafting and underwater gear, and offer a diverse range of services.

LIFE’s shipyard, boatbuilding and repair facility includes two marine railways with a capacity of up to 1600 tons and a 75-ton mobile boat hoist. The company specializes in vessels of steel hull construction and is also capable of servicing hulls of fibreglass, wood and composite material.
