Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture Minister’s Conference

The NSBA is proud to be a sponsor of the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture Minister’s Conference, 22 – 23 Feb 2018.  The NSBA will also have a booth at this event, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The fishery remains the backbone of the boatbuilding industry in the Maritimes, and NSBA’s participation in this event is one way we acknowledge this sector that is so crucial to the region’s economy.

If you design or build commercial fishing boats, this is for you! Transport Canada’s Fishing Vessel Safety Regs require all new small fishing vessels over 9m in length, and built after 13th July 2018, to have a Stability Assessment. Depending on the design and arrangement of the boat and its intended operation, new boats may require a Full Stability Assessment - or a Simplified Stability Assessment.
