Company Info

In business since 1944,Snyder’s Shipyard has built boats from 22′ to 110′ in wood and fibreglass. Their most recent launching was the 86′ longliner Abigail Grace, the largest fibreglass boat of its kind built in Atlantic Canada.

The yard’s diverse production includes the full size version of Theodore Tugboat, of children’s television fame, and the traditional 55′ topsail schooner Avon Spirit.

Snyder’s Shipyard is a part of the Lunenburg Shipyard Alliance currently rebuilding the Bluenose II.

Snyder’s Shipyard has recently formed a partnership with Maple Marine Design Group of Ontario to produce the Scotia 44 expedition yacht. The design features a cutter rig, twin props, and dual helm station with a saloon and pilot house, and is available with two suggested interior layouts.  The prototype will be unveiled at the Miami Strictly Sail in February 2012.  In a fitting tribute to Nova Scotia’s famous Bluenose !! schooner currently being rebuilt in Lunenburg, every Scotia 44 will feature wood from the schooner to carry the tradition into the future.
