The NSBA Board of Directors recently agreed to re-open the Boat Builders’ Marketing Assistance Program effective 07 Oct 2015 until the small amount of remaining funds are used up.
What is the BBMAP?
The Boat Builders’ Marketing Assistance Program (BBMAP) is a cost-shared funding program that can assist export-ready boatbuilders in Nova Scotia to exhibit at boat shows outside Atlantic Canada. The goal of the program is to increase export sales of recreational and commercial boats and related services offered by Nova Scotia boatbuilding and boat repair companies.
Who can apply to the BBMAP?
Nova Scotia companies whose main business is building or repairing boats are eligible to apply.
What Projects are eligible?
The NSBA will consider any Marketing Activity project that involves a company exhibiting at established boat shows outside Atlantic Canada.
Eligible expenses include air or ground travel from Nova Scotia to the boat show in question, accommodation, exhibit fees, and promotional material costs for that specific show.
Applicants must complete and submit the Boat Builders Marketing Assistance Program application form to the NSBA along with payment for the admin and claim review fees. Details of these fees are given on the application form.
Once the project is complete, companies must use the BBMAP Claim Form and submit it, together with a report and receipts for approved expenses incurred on the project to the NSBA.
Terms and Conditions of the BBMAP are as follows:
- Starting on 07 October, 2015 project applications will be reviewed and processed by the NSBA on a first-come-first-served basis. Only those applications submitted with payment for the Admin Review fee and Claim Processing fee will be considered, as explained on the application form.
- Eligible expenses for approved projects will be refunded at 50% up to maximum of $5,000 per project. Receipts or other proof of payment for all claimed expenses are required to complete a claim.
